Ontario (city, California) is a city in San Bernardino County, southern California. The city is located in the eastern portion of the huge metropolitan region centered on Los Angeles. Ontario is a residential, commercial, and light industrial city. Among its manufactures are citrus products, vehicles, as well as building materials. The service sector is also important to the city's economy. Ontario International Airport, expanded in the mid-1990s, serves the eastern areas of metropolitan Los Angeles. Additionally found in the city include the Graber Olive House and the Museum of History and Art. Construction started to the Ontario Convention Center in the mid-1990s.
The planned community of Ontario was laid out in 1882 by brothers from Ontario, Canada, who constructed it as an irrigated farming center. It was reached by railroad in 1887 and incorporated being a city around 1891.
