Koh Samui is actually Thailand's second largest island right after Phuket. Relatively unknown for many years, this sun lover's paradise offers great hotels a friendly lifestyle, good beaches along with hundreds of coconut trees. Not as spectacular as Phuket, it still keeps a unique elegance of its own. The small and quaint airport can't accommodate large aircraft thus tourism has developed at a more stimulating pace - the hallmark of the Samui lifestyle.
