Hoedspruit
This small town is both a railway and road junction and is a convenient location for a quick stop before heading to the Kruger National Park or even private game reserves. It's only 7kms to the turn off to the private game areas of Klaserie and Timbavati. Both these sectors encompass blocks of farms each owned by individuals or companies. Only a few fences separate the estates and a lot have open access to Kruger enabling the wild animals to move freely all around large areas.
