Treviso is a city in north-eastern Italy, capital of Treviso Province, in Veneto Region. A picturesque city, featuring its canals and winding streets, Treviso is an agricultural and manufacturing center. Products consist of machinery, paper, along with ceramics. One of many remarkable structures is the Cathedral of San Pietro (16th century), with seven domes. Actually a Roman settlement, Treviso was developed the seat of a Lombard duchy during the late 6th century. It became a member of the Lombard League in the 12th century and was assimilated by the Venetian Republic.
