Patras, the administrative centre town of the prefecture of Achaia is considered the most cosmopolitan, modern and far frequented area of the district of the Peloponnese. Being a major commercial, transporting and tourist center of the district, it is as well the third biggest town of the whole country of Greece.
Patra is split in the regions Ano Poli and Kato Poli.
