As the town is a set of ring defenses developed around a hill, be prepared to hike as well as walk. The antique cobblestone paths are rough but have been improved with cut granite sidewalks for safe walking. The tourist will move across narrow approaches walled in for defensive purposes. For anyone ones who would like to stay more than just a day there are many hotels, but for a home away from home try furnished apartments. They may be more very affordable than a hotel. Shopping
The leading shopping destination is the numerous shops carrying high quality knitwear. Selling prices will vary, with stalls just from the city wall providing the best values, having a better choice of excellent quality goods available within the several small shops around town. Most of these are located in the basements of buildings on minor streets.
